this has been high on my ‘get it done’ list so it’s with great, great joy that this is officially live!
a little background: i love writing. i will never forget in 6th grade when i was about to turn in a major English class project delivered in a 3-ring binder. the title page, which i proudly printed and tucked into the cover sleeve read: “my wrighting project”
sometimes you just miss the mark and are so bleary eyed that you write: “wrighting.” i did catch this mistake just as i was about to turn in the binder, and in absolute horror i must have explained to my teacher this was a terrible mistake. from then on out, i became obsessed with attention to detail. and i became obsessed with “wrighting”
i started a diary as soon as i could write. livejournal was my outlet in middle school. my bffs and i wrote each other physical notes and passed them around our high school halls (pre-texting days). i worked for my high school newspaper. i studied journalism in college. i worked for PR agencies in san francisco, new york, and la. i worked in brand, marketing, and launched ‘all sorts of’ for amber lewis in 2018. then, i co-wrote two best selling books with the incredible amber in 2020 and 2023.
so, now the year is 2024 and i’m still obsessed with journaling - even if no one is reading it :) i’ve always been better at expressing myself through writing. it’s my preferred method of communication (not a voice notes girl). so, here we are!
a few things i’ll be doing here:
sharing things i love. clothes, wine, home decor, entertaining, books, recipes, articles, podcasts, music. for now, this will be the core of what you’re subscribing to
i’m going to have fun with this! no overthinking, no strict schedule. when the ideas flow and i’m feeling inspired, you’ll hear from me
travel diaries. i’m on the road a lot and have always found it the most inspiring time to write and reminisce. i’ll share my favorite places and recs if you’re ever in that corner of the world
if you’ve made it here, you’re officially committed. a little about me: my name is Cat. i’m a California native currently living in los angeles. i’m the founder of dulan wine, creating wines from a vineyard i also own and operate in paso robles, california. i’m new in the entrepreneurial world and have been itching to have this little side project :)
